Reflection on the WORD
Courage - Humility: In today’s Gospel, Jesus affirms that if we dare to proclaim our faith, hope and love in Him, our courage comes from a humility that puts Him before our other concerns and selfish needs. With such humility and fidelity, we will grow in the maturity and holiness of our faith in Jesus.
Lk 12:8-12
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I tell you, if anyone openly declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, the Son of man will declare himself for him in the presence of God's angels. But anyone who disowns me in the presence of human beings will be disowned in the presence of God's angels.
‘Everyone who says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven, but no one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will be forgiven.
‘When they take you before synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say, because when the time comes, the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- Do we find ourselves shying away from defending the Truth of the Gospel and the Teachings of the Church or we just keep silent and worse still scandalise others through adding to the falsehood?
- When we behave in such cowardly manner, we are putting our “self” interests before God and the Gospel Truth.
- Pray for the strength and courage to speak up for the Gospel Truth and the wisdom to allow the Holy Spirit to guide and inspire you to say your words according to the Father’s Will.
