A Human Heart That Feels
Scripture:
When He (Jesus) saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Mt 9:36)
Reflection:
Jesus does not love abstractly; He loves with a human heart. He feels compassion, sorrow, and joy. His Sacred Heart assures us that God understands our emotions from within. Nothing we experience is foreign to Him. When we are overwhelmed, we can rest in a Heart that has known suffering and pain. To follow Him is to allow our own hearts to become more tender, more patient, and more open to others’ pain.
Prayer:
O my Jesus, You have great compassion for those who are marginalised and suffering. Within this tender loving Heart of Yours, I ask for (name your request here).
Our Father… Hail Mary…
Glory Be to the Father…
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, Your Sacred Heart is always open, with love, to each of us, especially when we are suffering. To all who come to You seeking Your help, You show Your compassion and healing power. You care for us when we are lost, sympathise with us in loneliness and comfort us in mourning; You are closest to us when we are weakest. You reach out Your hand to us when we stumble and have most need of Your help. I ask You to listen to my prayer during this Novena, and grant what I ask. …
If what I ask is not for my own or other’s good, grant me always what is best, that I may build Your kingdom of love in our world. Amen.
