Are you ready and willing to share with others about the resurrected Christ?
Easter Friday : 10th April 2026
Act 4:1-12; Ps 117 (118):1-2, 4, 22-27; Jn 21:1-14 (Ps Prop)
The Gospel reading presents us with the disciples having gone fishing at night but caught nothing. However, in the morning, following a man’s voice, they caught 153 big fish! The man turned out to be Jesus, Who said to them, ‘’Come and have breakfast.’’ He had with Him bread and a charcoal fire with fish cooking on it. Jesus, Who was now with them at the beach, must have reminded them of what He had said, ‘’I am the Bread of Life’’ (Jn 6:35), and that He had called them to be ‘’fishers of people’’ (Mk 1:17).
In the first reading, we note that the disciples had indeed been empowered by Jesus, for they did much ‘fishing of people’ as their listeners had now reached five thousand believers. However, the Jewish authorities were extremely annoyed; they had the disciples arrested. The disciples had to answer their question – by whose power and name had they healed the cripple. Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, pointed to Jesus as the one who had done so. Peter then quoted from Psalm 118 about Jesus being the stone rejected by the builders, which has proved to be the keystone. And Peter concluded by saying that Jesus is the only one by whom we can be saved. Today, are you ready and willing to share with others about the resurrected Christ?
PRAYER: Lord, may the message that we bring to others that Jesus saves, find a home in their hearts.
